Mud, rain, wet grass, unlikely roly-polies: walking accessories go through a lot. Good news, ours all go in the washing machine. Here is how to wash them so they stay looking good for a long time.
1. Before washing
- Remove the ID tag from the collar, and empty the poop bag holder.
- Brush off earth or hair once dry: it comes off more easily.
- Close all the buckles and clips so they do not catch on anything.
2. In the machine, at 30 °C
Put the accessories in a laundry bag (or a closed pillowcase): it protects the buckles and stops them banging against the drum. Choose a delicate 30 °C cycle, with a mild detergent and no fabric softener.
If you wash the leash and harness with other laundry, choose items of a similar colour, especially the first time.
3. Drying
Air dry, flat or hanging, away from radiators. Avoid the tumble dryer: heat damages fabrics and buckles. The neoprene of our Casper colourway dries particularly quickly.
4. Between washes
A damp sponge is often enough for a small stain. After a walk in the rain, simply let the harness dry before putting it away.
5. Check for wear
Use washing time to inspect the seams, the buckles and the leash's snap hook. A damaged accessory should be replaced: your dog's safety depends on it.
All our harnesses, collars, leashes and poop bag holders are machine washable at 30 °C, from corduroy to neoprene.
